Clicker Dog Training
Clicker dog training is a convenient way to train your dog without having to deal with food at all times. It is also good for your dog to avoid too many sweets, weight gain and poor nutrition. The clicker is a small and inexpensive device that is available in pet stores.
This type of dog training is based on the idea of conditioning was discovered by Russian scientist Ivan Pavlov, who won the 1904 Nobel Prize in Physiology.
First, Dr. Pavlov measured the saliva of dogs when food is presented. As expected, the dogs salivate at the sight and smell the food. Rang a bell when the food was presented. Next measured the saliva of dogs when the bell was rung without food. Dogs salivated when the bell rang without food, because the dogs had learned to associate the bell with food.
Think of a song he heard at a party or when having fun with a friend. When you hear the song can feel like you did the first time I heard it. Dog clicker training works the same way.
To start clicker training, feeding your dog his favorite treat while you click the clicker. While the dog is receiving he treats or she must know many clicks, and learn to associate with sweets.
Then give the dog a clear order while demonstrating that the dog what he wants. Say you want the dog learns to sit. Say the command and gently hold the dog on its hind legs.
Then reward your dog by clicking while he or she sits. Stop clicking when the dog fails to sit. Give the command again, watch for your dog to sit, and click on the reward.
If you do not use the clicker for a while, and the dog seems to lose interest in listening to the clicks, simply repeat the procedure with the clicks and treats. They have great time with his best friend.
